  • Tempus Projects 4636 N Florida Ave Tampa, FL, 33603 United States (map)

TEMPUS PROJECTS hosts their Spring exhibition titled Darkness Invisible curated by Justin Bryan Nelson and Tracy Midulla Reller. This all-media exhibition will feature works that glean inspiration from the Hidden Mother imagery of Victorian photography, but will also include figurative-based subjects, either concrete or ethereal, that are either missing, unseen, cloaked, or transparent, and/or most importantly, invisible or hidden. Participating artists include Sarah Emerson, Amir H. Fallah, Langdon Graves, Trenton Doyle Hancock, Gigi Lage, and Noelle Mason.

This exhibition is scheduled to open Saturday, March 28th and run through Friday, May 1st. Tempus Projects will host an opening reception on March 28th from 7-10pm at Tempus Projects, located at 4636 N. Florida Ave. Tampa, FL 33603.

This event is sponsored in part by The Mermaid Tavern, where there will be an after party directly following the reception.

"Darkness Invisible, TEMPUS PROJECTS, 2015
Darkness Invisible surveys primarily figurative-based subjects, either concrete or ethereal, that are either missing, unseen, or transparent. It is a collection of narratives that reference the hidden or invisible antagonist. Bringing together artists from several regions and media; painters, printmakers, mixed-media artists and photographers; the exhibition depicts works that were selected because of their loose affiliation with hidden, dark intentions and cloaked manipulators. The artists in Darkness Invisible share a fascination for the conveying of events in images, often by the embellishment of visionary languages, that at first glance may not disclose their sinister parable. Departing from the personal allegories and depicting images that glean from imagery similar in visual note of Hidden Mother or Invisible Mother imagery of Victorian photography; Darkness Invisible creates a collection that pieces together a fragmented and unreliable encyclopedia of experiences depicting a veiled nemesis."
